Nobu / Tanzania
Serengeti, Ndutu South.
The endless plains, where the herds have always moved.
The Nobu perspective
Serengeti, Ndutu South,
at your pace.
Ndutu lies across the southern Serengeti and Ngorongoro short-grass plains, a seasonal focus for grazing herds and calving. Its airstrip and mobile camps support immersive green-season safaris, while resident predators keep the open country active beyond peak movement.
After rains renew the short grass, wildebeest and zebra commonly gather across the south, with calving drawing attentive predators. Open terrain favours long views, patient photography and dawn or late-afternoon drives from nearby camps.
Ndutu works as a seasonal counterpart to central or northern Serengeti sectors. Ballooning, walking and community encounters remain subject to current access and respectful arrangements, while herd location and calving activity can never be guaranteed.

late June–October
The long dry season
Late June–October is the wider Serengeti dry season, but many migrating herds usually range farther north or west from Ndutu. Resident wildlife still rewards careful drives; herd positions, predator encounters and every wildlife sighting depend on nature and are not guaranteed.
November to May
The green season
November to May is Ndutu's defining green period, with refreshed short grass and the principal January–February calving window. Rain and grazing determine where herds settle, so camp placement follows current reports; migration, births and wildlife sightings are not guaranteed.

Good questions. Straight answers.
When is the best time to visit the Serengeti?
It depends what you want: January–February for the calving and big cats on the southern plains, July–October for the Mara River crossings in the north, and the dry season (late June–October) for the easiest all-round game viewing.
Where is the migration in the Serengeti right now?
The herds move in a year-round loop — south for the calving early in the year, north toward the Mara River by mid-year. We position your camp to match the herds' expected location for your dates.
How many days do you need in the Serengeti?
Three to five nights lets you settle into the right region without rushing; longer if you're chasing the crossings or combining regions.
Is the Serengeti the same as the Maasai Mara?
They're one ecosystem across the Tanzania–Kenya border: the Serengeti is the Tanzanian side, the Mara the Kenyan —
