THE ART OF WATCHING

More time watching.
Less chasing a list.

The best sightings rarely come from rushing on to the next one.

Patience, a good guide and the right place at the right season do more than a long list of stops. We route the journey through the parks and conservancies that suit what you love most, whether that’s the Big Five, birds or photography, and give each sighting the time it deserves.

Wildlife keeps its own schedule. Your guide will always put the animals’ wellbeing first.

A DAY OF WATCHING

Stay with
the moment.

Wildlife days follow the light, and the animals.

  1. DAWN

    Out as the light turns.

The best hour for big cats and photography, with a guide who reads the morning.

  2. AT A SIGHTING

    Watch what unfolds.

Stay while the scene develops, instead of moving straight on.

  3. DUSK

    One last drive.

Back out as the heat fades, for the soft light and the evening’s first movements.

THE DETAILS MAKE THE DIFFERENCE

A little thought.
A better journey.

A few things to plan for.

Your interests

Big cats, birds, behaviour or photography. Tell us what matters most.

Vehicles

For photography, ask about camera-fitted vehicles with fewer guests.

Camera gear

Light aircraft have strict luggage limits. We’ll advise on what to bring.

When to go

Dry seasons make wildlife easier to find. The green season brings newborns and dramatic skies.

BEFORE YOU GO

Good questions.
Straight answers.

Will we see the Big Five?

With the right route, all five are very achievable. In Kenya that means pairing the Mara with a rhino stronghold such as Lake Nakuru or Ol Pejeta.

Which animals are hardest to see?

Leopard and rhino: the leopard for its secrecy, the rhino because it lives mostly in protected areas.

Do I need professional camera gear?

No. Photographic journeys suit every level, and tuition is available.

When is the best time for wildlife?

The dry season, roughly June to October, makes animals easiest to find. The green season adds newborns, migrant birds and dramatic skies.

YOUR NEXT CHAPTER

What would you
watch a little longer?

Tell us what you’d most love to see, and we’ll design the route to find it.
