Nobu / Tanzania
Serengeti, Western Corridor.
The endless plains, where the herds have always moved.
The Nobu perspective
Serengeti, Western Corridor,
at your pace.
The Western Corridor follows the Serengeti's riverine country toward the Grumeti, combining open plains with wooded channels and seasonal herd movement. Kirawira access supports game drives focused on resident predators, plains wildlife and the migration's westward passage.
Rivers and woodland give this sector a different texture from the short-grass south, supporting crocodiles, hippos and predators alongside grazing herds. Drives can move between broad vistas and concentrated river habitat within one day.
The corridor is strongest when dates and camp position reflect current seasonal movement. Ballooning, designated walks and mobile camps may add range, subject to permissions and conditions, while migration timing and sightings remain inherently uncertain.

late June–October
The long dry season
Late June–October is the Serengeti's long dry season, with firmer tracks and strong general viewing across the park. Herds may pass through western river country earlier within their circuit, but movement, river activity and every wildlife sighting are not guaranteed.
November to May
The green season
November to May brings green scenery, newborn animals and quieter conditions in many areas, though rains can affect tracks. Resident predators remain, while migrating herds respond to grazing and rainfall across the ecosystem; their locations and all sightings are not guaranteed.

Good questions. Straight answers.
When is the best time to visit the Serengeti?
It depends what you want: January–February for the calving and big cats on the southern plains, July–October for the Mara River crossings in the north, and the dry season (late June–October) for the easiest all-round game viewing.
Where is the migration in the Serengeti right now?
The herds move in a year-round loop — south for the calving early in the year, north toward the Mara River by mid-year. We position your camp to match the herds' expected location for your dates.
How many days do you need in the Serengeti?
Three to five nights lets you settle into the right region without rushing; longer if you're chasing the crossings or combining regions.
Is the Serengeti the same as the Maasai Mara?
They're one ecosystem across the Tanzania–Kenya border: the Serengeti is the Tanzanian side, the Mara the Kenyan —
