Nobu / Uganda
Bwindi, Nkuringo.
An ancient forest, and an hour you never forget.
The Nobu perspective
Bwindi, Nkuringo,
at your pace.
Nkuringo is a Bwindi rainforest base for a Uganda journey shaped around mountain gorilla trekking. Its accommodation and sector arrangements need to be planned together, with access commonly involving Kisoro airstrip followed by the appropriate onward road connection.
The walk through steep, tangled rainforest is more than a means of arrival. Old trees, dripping vegetation and ridges draw you into the landscape before a gorilla encounter brings its wildlife into a closer, quieter focus.
Choose Nkuringo as a deliberate chapter rather than an interchangeable name on the map. Allow time around the trek and confirm the selected stay and access arrangements, balancing the forest effort with the rest of your journey.

Your dates, your route
Start with your preferred month. Your designer will help match the season, chosen stays and connections to your route, interests and preferred pace.
June to September and December to February
Drier trail windows
June–September and December–February usually offer firmer footing for Nkuringo's steep rainforest terrain. The sector permit, accommodation and Kisoro-side transfer should be planned together, while weather, walking distance and gorilla location remain variable each day.
March to May · October to November
The wetter seasons
March–May and October–November make Nkuringo's forest especially lush, while rain can increase mud and physical effort on steep paths. Allow recovery time around the trek and keep access, route and daily expectations flexible under ranger direction.
