Tracking and habituation are different experiences. Confirm the activity, visitor category, availability and applicable conditions with UWA for the travel date.
A seasonal offer needs a qualifying itinerary
RDB’s November–May 30% gorilla-permit discount requires a combined Akagera and/or Nyungwe visit lasting three days and two nights, hotel-payment confirmation and a paid activity. Spend both nights in one of those parks, or consecutive one-night stays in each. Each discounted gorilla trek needs its own qualifying stay. RDB low-season gorilla discount requirements — Undated live permit portal checked 20 October 2026
UWA’s separate low-season letter names April, May and November and says those permits cannot be rescheduled. Its chimpanzee offer does not name a park: confirm the intended product before substituting a reduced amount. A published offer does not establish available places.
Reserve the activity before building the surrounding trip
- Confirm the park, gorilla sector where relevant, named experience, date and eligible travellers.
- Check permit availability and the applicable payment, rescheduling and cancellation terms.
- Ask which entry, guide and other services the permit includes.
- Match accommodation and transfers to the confirmed starting point.
For younger travellers, use the family guide’s activity-age comparison. An ordinary child entry ticket does not make a restricted primate activity available.
