Who pays, and for how long

  • Narok’s enacted schedule defines Maasai Mara park entry as 06:00–18:00 regardless of arrival time. The Mara Triangle also publishes a 12-hour ticket for 06:00–18:00 that does not carry overnight. Confirm overnight, next-morning and repeat-entry arrangements for your itinerary.
  • Children aged eight and below are free in the published Triangle schedule. Child rates cover ages 9–17.
  • The Triangle webpage names residents of Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi for its resident category. Do not assume the list automatically extends to every EAC member.
  • The Kenyan citizen and East African resident categories are different. The source provides no general EAC citizen price; confirm eligibility rather than applying KWS categories.
  • Student concessions require a qualifying institution, group and prior authorisation. Personal student holidays are excluded under the Triangle guidance.

How to arrange payment

  • Passports, National ID, birth certificate for citizen children; driving licence not accepted. Missing valid identification results in nonresident rate.
  • KAPS online with VISA or authorized KAPS employee at Purungat Bridge, Oloololo Gate, Serena Airstrip.
  • No cash; M-pesa and credit card.
  • If staying in Triangle and transiting Sekenani, pay at Purungat Bridge upon entering Triangle as directed by operator, rather than assuming Sekenani payment appropriate.

Build it into your route

Decide whether your drives will enter the national reserve, a private conservancy, or both. Ask for the exact admission arrangement and avoid adding a conservancy charge twice if your stay includes it.

A Mara Triangle itinerary needs its own correct gates and payment routing. Confirm arrangements for the following morning, a late departure or repeat entry rather than assuming an overnight pass.

Explore Maasai Mara National Reserve. Compare Kenya park fees and the wider safari budget. Your written proposal confirms the actual inclusions.
