Olepangi Farm is a country stay near Timau, where gardens, horses and collected antiques shape the atmosphere more than a conventional safari-camp routine. It can serve as a pause between wildlife destinations, with farm activities, communal meals and the Mount Kenya foothills providing the setting.
The accommodation range is unusually varied. Individual cottages sit alongside larger houses, including Olepangi House in three- or five-bedroom configurations and the five-bedroom Matembezi House. Little Moon is the two-bedroom side of Matembezi, not another five bedrooms to add to the estate. Villa Gorilla has two bedrooms and can be arranged for longer self-catering stays.
Its stairs make it unsuitable for guests with mobility difficulties and for children under five. Burton & Speke has two en-suite rooms accessed separately from the veranda, a detail that matters for families with younger children.
For Nobu, Olepangi is a strong candidate for guests who want a characterful farm setting and time outdoors. The operator requires a minimum two-night stay.
