The details that help a journey feel considered, from your first connection to the pace of each day.
Getting there
Most travellers arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi. Safari connections may leave from Wilson Airport, or continue by road. The two airports are separate stops, so the connection needs time built into the itinerary.
Tell us your arrival and departure plans before booking onward travel. We will review the transfers, overnight stops and baggage arrangements for the actual flights and camps on your route.
Entry requirements
Entry arrangements depend on your passport, route and travel dates. Check the current official Kenyan requirements before departure, including any authorisation, passport validity and supporting documents that apply to you.
If you are combining Kenya with another country, check each border crossing and any return into Kenya separately. Share the planned route with your designer so the relevant checks can be included in your preparation.
Health
Take your itinerary to a travel clinic before departure. The clinic can give advice suited to your medical history, destinations and activities, including current vaccination and malaria guidance.
Discuss any medication, dietary or practical health needs with your designer. We can check storage, meal arrangements and the pace of travel with the selected stays; your clinician remains the source of individual medical advice.
On-the-ground support
Good preparation includes more than the route on a map. Transfers, camp contacts, local guiding and time between stops all shape how the journey feels. We review these arrangements around your itinerary.
Before departure, confirm the agreed contact and support arrangements, what is included, and whom to contact if a connection changes. Nobu provides 24-hour assistance; your final proposal and travel briefing set out your journey’s arrangements.
Accessibility
A mobility-conscious journey begins with specific information. Tell us about steps, walking distances, vehicle access, bathroom requirements and the pace that works for you. A general accessibility label is less useful than the details of the actual room and route.
We check accommodation, transfers and activities individually. Ask for current photographs and clear measurements where those will help, and have the agreed arrangements confirmed before committing.
Five to ten days is a useful starting point for a Kenya journey, with three to four nights for a Mara chapter. The right duration depends on how many places you want to visit and how much movement you enjoy between stays.
Choose the places that matter first, then allow time to settle into them. A coast extension, northern expedition or neighbouring-country chapter needs its own connections and nights; adding stops should add something to the journey.
Travel with confidence
Nobu is KATO/TRA-registered and provides financial protection and 24-hour assistance. These commitments sit alongside the practical work of matching the itinerary, accommodation and local arrangements to you.
Read your proposal for the named stays, room types, transport, activities, inclusions and exclusions. Ask your designer to explain anything unclear, including the protection and assistance arrangements that apply to your journey.
