The stay
The former Serengeti Sopa Lodge has become Serengeti Explorer by Elewana, a plains-facing lodge with Savannah Rooms and larger suites. It suits travellers wanting extensive facilities inside the park.
Serengeti Explorer by Elewana occupies the reimagined site of Serengeti Sopa Lodge, with an elevated outlook across the national park’s western corridor. The current property brings a contemporary lodge approach to this established location, combining broad plains views with substantial dining, wellness and activity facilities.
Accommodation now comprises sixty-eight Savannah Rooms, five Savannah Suites and one two-bedroom Family Suite. Private balconies connect the interiors to the landscape, while the larger suites provide more room for families or guests spending time at the lodge between drives.
Nobu would consider Explorer for travellers who want the Serengeti experience with the breadth of a full-service lodge. The key booking decision is the package: Full Board and Game Package have different drive and transfer inclusions, and special dining can cost extra. Seasonal wildlife movement should guide expectations rather than promises of a particular sighting.
