The stay
Papaya Lake Lodge overlooks Lyantonde Lake in the crater-lakes region, with eight cottages and a larger family villa. Restaurant, bar and pool spaces encourage time at the lodge. Charging and hot-water arrangements are limited.
Papaya Lake Lodge sits on a crater slope overlooking Lyantonde Lake, within the Fort Portal crater-lakes region near Kifuruka. Its operator lists nine cottages, with a restaurant, bar, swimming pool and terrace. The lodge is a base for an itinerary in the wider Kibale area rather than accommodation at the chimpanzee briefing point itself, so road transfers need to be planned.
Eight regular cottages are described with one king and one single bed, a shower bathroom and veranda. The ninth unit is a two-level Family Cottage with three bedrooms, living room, fireplace, one described spacious bathroom and a terrace. No family floor area or maximum guest count is assigned without clearer specifications.
Charging outlets and Wi-Fi are described in the restaurant area, and hot water is normally heated morning and evening, with other times on request.
