Oldonyo Orok is a solar-powered tented camp in the Namanga Hills area, outside Amboseli National Park. Its varied rooms include kitchenette tents and an adjoining family layout for five.
Oldonyo Orok is an owner-run camp in the Namanga Hills area, offering a quieter countryside stay within reach of Amboseli excursions. The current operator describes a solar-powered property founded by Nazeel and Lucy, with a focus on restoring its semi-arid surroundings. Its location is outside the national park, so travelling to Amboseli requires a separate drive and entrance arrangements.
The accommodation range is unusually flexible. Five Deluxe Double Tents can take a couple and an additional child; two Deluxe Twin Tents have different bedding layouts, one sleeping three and one two. Three Kitchenette Tents provide basic facilities for drinks or warming food, while main meals remain part of the camp dining experience.
The family layout has an adjoining children’s room with bunk beds, rather than a single open sleeping space.
For Nobu, Oldonyo Orok suits families and friends seeking a relaxed tented base with several room arrangements.
