Ngorongoro Kuhama is an eastern-rim camp with walk-in tents, private verandas and safari bucket showers.

Ngorongoro Kuhama is a traditional tented camp at the Lemala Extra campsite on the eastern crater rim. Its attraction is a straightforward safari atmosphere and proximity to the descent route, with canvas rooms among highland trees and a communal mess tent for meals. Current guest stays and operator responses still identify it under the Kuhama name.

Private verandas provide somewhere to sit outdoors, while bathrooms use safari bucket showers. This is a simpler camp arrangement than a fully plumbed contemporary lodge.

Meals are taken in the mess tent, with a small lounge and charging area supporting time between drives. The campfire is part of the evening routine when conditions allow. Solar power and the cool highland setting are practical considerations for guests bringing devices or planning their clothing.

For Nobu, Kuhama suits travellers who value a classic camp and crater access over extensive facilities. TNS’s newer Ngorongoro Rim Lodge is separately listed and should not be merged with Kuhama merely because the operator is shared.
