The stay

Ten permanent tented cottages overlook a floodplain beside Tarangire, outside the park boundary. Kirurumu offers double, twin and family options, private verandas and ensuite hot showers.

Kirurumu Tarangire Lodge stands on private land beside the national park, on the former Tamarind Camp site. Its outlook is over a floodplain used seasonally by wildlife, while its position outside the boundary allows a different mix of activities from an inside-park camp. Access to the park remains a separate journey that should be planned with the guide.

Ten permanent tented cottages are listed: two doubles, six twins and two family units. Private verandas extend the living space outdoors, and ensuite bathrooms have hot and cold water with rain showers. WiFi is provided in a designated area, with daily housekeeping and a tea or coffee wake-up service among the practical conveniences.

Nobu would consider Kirurumu for travellers who like the feel of canvas accommodation but prefer a settled cottage structure outside the gate.
