A PLACE IN YOUR JOURNEY
Karenge Bush Camp is in the northern sector of Akagera National Park, overlooking the Kilala Plains and Muhororo Hills. That location gives it a different role from the lakeside accommodation near the southern entrance. Allow a substantial drive through the park when arriving from the south rather than treating the camp as a nearby gate stop.
Tents can be arranged as twins or doubles and have en-suite bathrooms with flushing toilets and hot and cold water, plus private outdoor showers. Solar lighting and charging points support the low-key camp setting. Older six-tent, bucket-shower and seasonal descriptions are not the current operator specification.
A dining tent, lounge and outdoor firepit look over the plains.
For Nobu, Karenge suits safari travellers who want time in northern Akagera and a small camp atmosphere.
