Gibb’s Farm is a working-farm retreat near Karatu, on the outer slopes of the Ngorongoro highlands. Coffee, gardens and the everyday rhythms of the farm shape a stay that can balance northern Tanzania’s wildlife parks with time away from the safari vehicle. Seventeen one-bedroom cottages and two separate farmhouses are spread through the property.
The cottages have individual interiors, living space and private verandas, with king or twin-queen bed arrangements. Bathrooms include indoor and outdoor showers, while fireplaces add comfort on cooler highland evenings.
Farm walks, fresh coffee and time in the gardens make it worth considering more than a brief overnight stop. The government tourism levy, transfers, laundry and some experiences remain additional.
