The stay
Country Lodge Karatu gathers cottage rooms around a pool in a setting on the town’s outskirts. King/twin beds, verandas and fireplaces make a practical highland stop, with dining and lounge spaces.
Country Lodge Karatu offers a garden-based stay on the outskirts of town, positioned between the Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro portions of a northern Tanzania journey. Twelve double cottages form a modest lodge setting around the swimming pool, with paths and planted grounds linking the rooms to shared spaces.
King-bed and twin arrangements are available, and triple rooms can be requested. Rooms include mosquito nets, a writing desk, a sitting area and a veranda, with a fireplace that can be lit on colder evenings. Ensuite bathrooms use local stone, and solar hot water is advertised. The operator’s current overview describes twenty-four rooms.
Meals, drinks and fireside seating are centred in the main dining, bar and lounge area. A pool, massage offering and gardens give guests somewhere to pause between drives.
