Chimpanzee Forest Lodge combines cottages, rooms in a main guest house and space for travellers bringing their own tents. Its grounds include lawns, gardens, tea plantations and indigenous forest, with views across the Kibale and crater-lakes landscape. The main house carries the history of a former district commissioner's residence, adapted into a lodge in 2003.
This is a property to consider when a safari needs a relaxed garden setting rather than a large resort. The accommodation choices allow different travel styles, from a conventional guest room to independent camping.
