BUHOMA COMMUNITY REST CAMP / BANDAS

THE NOBU VIEW

The stay

A community-run Buhoma base with self-contained bandas and cottages, forest outlooks and a restaurant. It suits travellers who value a practical trekking location and local ownership.

Buhoma Community Rest Camp places a stay close to the forest and to the community that runs it. The operator traces the enterprise to 1993 and describes it as a project managed through the Buhoma Mukono Community Development Association. Its terraces and garden paths give the accommodation a modest, outdoors-focused character suited to a trekking itinerary.

Banda and cottage terminology overlaps, so these should not be counted as separate inventories. A restaurant, room service and WiFi are listed, and full-board arrangements make early starts and post-trek meals easier to plan. Drinks beyond room water are not automatically included.

Nobu would consider the camp for travellers who favour community-run accommodation and proximity to the Buhoma trekking area over an extensive resort facility list. The similarly named Haven Lodge is a separate property under the same community umbrella; a booking should identify this Rest Camp specifically. Gorilla permits and any required transfers need to be arranged separately.
