Blue Oyster is a family-run Jambiani hotel with a direct beach setting and a deliberately simple approach to comfort. Its eighteen rooms are divided between sea-facing accommodation and smaller garden options arranged around a courtyard.
The rooms use traditional timber beds, mosquito nets, ceiling fans and natural ventilation. Air conditioning is intentionally not offered.
The sea-view restaurant serves seafood, grilled meat and Swahili dishes, while the beach bar provides drinks and lighter food during the day. Massage, a library, a small shop and arranged excursions add to the relaxed, village-based character of the stay. Cots and high chairs can be requested.
For Nobu, Blue Oyster suits travellers who value a personal atmosphere, beach access and local context over extensive resort facilities. Guests must be comfortable sleeping without air conditioning.
