The stay

Bamboo combines open-air villas, ocean-facing pool rooms and garden bungalows in Mfumbwi, Jambiani. Design, gardens, spa and slow-food dining define the stay. Guests must be at least fifteen; rooms hold two.

Bamboo Zanzibar is a design-led retreat in Mfumbwi, where open forms, planted spaces and the ocean outlook shape the stay. Its current accommodation offers three distinct experiences: an open-air jungle villa, ocean-facing signature rooms and a small circular grouping of garden bungalows. Choosing between them is more important than relying on a generic suite label.

The jungle villa has a wraparound private pool and Jacuzzi, with bathing and sleeping spaces designed to stay close to the outdoors. Signature rooms add a king bed, private terrace and swim-up plunge pool facing the sea. Rondo bungalows share a pool among five units and have outdoor rain showers. The latter two categories explicitly list air conditioning, while the jungle villa is fully open-air.

Shared facilities include an infinity-pool lounge, yoga space, gardens and spa. The restaurant follows a slow-food approach with Zanzibar and wider island influences; it specifically avoids a conventional fast-food menu. Meal plans and private dining have separate conditions.

For Nobu, Bamboo suits couples and design-conscious adults who welcome an unusual layout. The hotel’s minimum guest age is fifteen, despite its adults-only wording.
