The stay
Apoka Safari Lodge has ten canvas-walled chalets around a rocky outcrop in Kidepo’s Narus Valley. Private verandas, outdoor baths and a rock-carved pool frame a remote safari stay.
Apoka Safari Lodge sits around a rocky outcrop in the Narus Valley, inside Kidepo Valley National Park. Its open views and unfenced setting make wildlife part of the lodge landscape, while the remoteness of northeastern Uganda calls for carefully arranged flights or a considered overland journey.
Ten canvas-walled chalets are divided into six doubles and four twins. The operator-supplied room description specifies king beds in the doubles and two queen beds in the twins, with indoor seating, private verandas and outdoor rock baths.
The main lodge looks across the plains, and a swimming pool is carved into the rock. Meals, house drinks and laundry are listed, alongside a separately charged conservation contribution.
For Nobu, Apoka suits travellers who value open country, small-scale accommodation and a slower safari rhythm. Allow time to reach Kidepo and avoid treating sightings as guaranteed.
